Direct and indirect speech are asked in English
comprehension tests, in various competitive exams such as SSC, Bank, Railways,
Teaching, NDA, MBA, etc. Direct/Indirect speech is all about changing the narration
of sentences. You will be given a sentence either in direct speech or in
indirect speech, and you need to change it in another form/speech. Out of four
alternatives, you need to spot the one which best expresses the same sentence
in Indirect/Direct speech.
How to score maximum in Direct and Indirect Speech.
* For
changing direct speech into indirect speech and vice-versa, go through the
basic grammar rules and applications first.
* Get used to the rules, especially, how the subject, object, and tense change.
* There are different rules to change different sentences from direct to
indirect speech. You can refer to our detailed teacher's notes on
